Pictures from the Writer's Rally today

Yesterday I picketed with my husband (and actors Eva Longoria, Nicolette Sheridan, Marcia Cross of Desperate Housewives, and William Peterson of CSI--because SAG members were out supporting the writers). My feet were killing me when I got home, but the support from passersby was amazing!

Today the WGA picketed at Fox studios only, and held a rally. There were thousands of writers there, and my husband took some pictures for me on his phone. Here they are:

And here are the actresses (Eva Longoria, Nicolette Sheridan, Marcia Cross) picketing yesterday with their showrunner, writer/producer Marc Cherry. Not such a clear photo, but that's why I'm not a paparazzo:

Thanks for dropping by my blog and you're welcome for the support. The issues are just as important to us here in Canada. I am grateful to all the strikers for taking this on.

Watching all the videos and blog reports has made me want to jump on a plane and fly out to L.A. to be right in the action!

HONK!

danika--lol--thanks! Love the honks! Love your blog, too :)

I think today's rally was really exciting and gratifying for all the writers there. My husband belongs to the WGC as well and they have been very strong in their support of their American brethren (and sisters).

joy--lol...thanks for the honks, thanks for the support!

Lots of honks from here, too! I hope the strike is settled very soon. I know it's a lot of worry. Thinking of you.

HONK! Hey, I never got to do that before! The support looks amazing and surely that will only grow. Here's hoping for a resolution very soon.

Here's a ridiculous comment, but it did pop into my head so I'll share it: Thank goodness the actresses look awful in real life just like practically every one else! I hope your feet feel better. You were wearing Birkenstocks, I hope. :)

Honk! Honk!

It warms my heart that the actresses come picketing with you. Their appearance simply tells us all how serious and important the issue is.

Treat your feet a hot bath with some epsom salt. :)

bellezza--lol, you're right. Though they all were wearing makeup, it was nice that the actresses were dressed in jeans and baseball hats, and seemingly happy to mix with us common folk! And while I (of course) own a pair of Birkenstocks, I was wearing my running shoes, but I don't think any pair of shoes could have saved my feet from the wear and tear of four hours of walking in a circle. My hand hurt from carrying the sign, too!

matt--I hear epsom salt works wonders! And yes, the actors have been really supportive, and just as serious as the writers in supporting the cause :)

I add my honks too! I'm totally supportive of the writers and hope the studios get over themselves soon.

stefanie--thanks! And as my husband was chanting on the line today, "We write, they wrong!" Nice grammar, eh?
