Ack! I have so many books on this pile, I don't think they'll fit in a picture. But I have gathered together a representative sampling. Here they are:“So here today I present to you an Unread Books Challenge. Give me the list or take a picture of all the books you have stacked on your bedside table, hidden under the bed or standing in your shelf – the books you have not read, but keep meaning to. The books that begin to weigh on your mind. The books that make you cover your ears in conversation and say, ‘No! Don’t give me another book to read! I can’t finish the ones I have!’ "
I guess the challenge is to get working on this pile...
Do any of your piles of unread books haunt you?

I recognize some titles in there, that I have on my TBR pile too : Kafka on the shore, Fingersmith!
I couldn't fit all of my book into a picture either, my desk is covered in them! ;)
I'm in the same boat. So much to read, so little time.
You'll find mine here.
Every time I walk past my TBR pile I think: how am I ever going to read all those books? and yet I can't help adding more... I've only read one of those you got- Fingersmith- and I'm curious about In a Sunburned Country. What's that one about?
I promise myself one of these days I will get around finishing all those books on my TBR pile!
Here is my BTT post!
It does seem intimidating when you stack them all up in one place!!
I was tempted to do a similar post yesterday but couldn't get up enough energy (or find the time) to gathering all my unread books into one stack. I'm guessing there was be close to a couple of hundred of them around the house.
infiniteshelf--so glad we're neglecting the same books :)
anthonynorth--you're so right, and thanks for the link!
Jeane--I'm hoping to read Fingersmith this summer, so maybe we can compare notes. In a Sunburned Country is Bill Bryson's book about Australia. I like him, he's a funny writer, and I've heard this is good :)
gautami--I guess this is the challenge, to get around to some of these darn TBR books! Thanks for the link :)
Lisa--It's best to spread them all around the house. Then the husband doesn't have a handle on how many there actually are...
Sam--Sadly, this little pile is the tip of the iceberg. I can't claim a couple of hundred, but I'm heading that direction!
I have SHELVES of unread books that haunt me :-). Once they make it off a shelf and onto a pile, they're probably going to be read fairly soon. A weird system, but it seems to work for me.
Florinda--Lol! That sounds like a good system. Now if I could conjure up more bookshelf space in my house, maybe I could make that work for me, too :)
I have shelves of unread books! I try not to let them get to me and usually I'm ok. I get overwhelmed though when I'm in one of those moods when I can't quite figure out which book next. My husband laughs as I stand there and stare at all those unread books and can't make up my mind. haha...
Go with the Bryson book. Very fun!
Aha! I see Kafka on The Shore in there...you better move him up to the top of the pile! ;) I just reread it, and I think I'll reread it every summer from now on. I just love that book, and Murakami in general.
iliana--lol, I sometimes stand there staring at my shelves, too!
melanie--I loved some of Bryson's other stuff, I know I'll enjoy this one!
dolcebelezza--I loved The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, and have been meaning to read this forever! Thanks for the nudge :)
I posted a picture of my book stacks on my blog a few weeks ago and then I counted them - there were 212 books waiting to be read. I feel totally overwhelmed by it, and yet that never stops me from buying more.
Angie--it never stops me from buying more, either. I just got a box from Amazon tonight!
