Which Book Are You, a quiz

You're Catch-22!

by Joseph Heller

Incredibly witty and funny, you have a taste for irony in all that you
see. It seems that life has put you in perpetually untenable situations, and your sense
of humor is all that gets you through them. These experiences have also made you an
ardent pacifist, though you present your message with tongue sewn into cheek. You
could coin a phrase that replaces the word "paradox" for millions of
people.

Take the Book Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

I saw this at Matt's site, A Variety of Words, and several other places over the last week (sorry, can't remember exactly where...). The first time I did it, it came out differently. And I have to say, I didn't get it at all. (Okay, the book that was supposed to represent me was Watership Down. Huh?)

So what did I do? I revised. I took the quiz again. Some might say I cheated. But I didn't consciously change my answers, because I had taken the quiz the first time about a week ago. But clearly subconsciously I must have been trying for something else. And there wasn't a single question about rabbits this time, so...I'm now Catch 22. I feel it's come a little closer to my personality, but still isn't quite me.

So I want to know what books the rest of you are. And whether you think the quiz is right. Or whether you get an answer and say, "Huh?" like I did the first time...

I did it a couple of times, changing my answers, and both times it was 'huh?' so I gave up! :P

tanabata--oh well, clearly you are too complex, brilliant and mysterious a personality to be categorized by a computer program :)

Oh definitely a 'huh?'. I was A Prayer for Owen Meaney, which makes me an annoying prophetic dwarf who SPEAKS LOUDLY ON PAPER. I don't dare do it again in case I end up with something worse...

litlove--okay, this thing is a bust. All my favorite people are being mislabeled and misunderstood! It was a cute idea, but now I give it a thumbs down.

I've never read Catch 22 (Shame on me!) but I'd rather have those lovely accolades than what my book turned out to be: The Hobbit. Hey, I don't have furry feet! Among other things, like a Quest... :)

Even though I don't like the book that I am, Brave New World, I thought it actually pretty accurately described me. Looks I'm in the minority here...

BIG "huh?" I was Love in the Time of Cholera. Not only did I not like this book, but its description of me was highly unflattering: "Like Odysseus in a work of Homer, you demonstrate undying loyalty by
sleeping with as many people as you possibly can."

Huff. Well, I never.

I'm tempted to try this again but, like litlove, I'm afraid I'll get something much worse, though I'm not sure how much worse it could get: sociopathic killer perhaps?

LOL, that is great! I am going to go take the quiz again.

bellezza--well, the first time I got Watership Down, a book I didn't like, and I don't have furry feet either!

matt--I'm kind of the opposite of you--I liked Catch-22, but don't think it really describes me. But maybe I should ask my family if, in fact, it does describe me. Maybe I'm deluding myself.

j.s.--well, I never, either! That is highly unflattering, insulting, even!

my utopia--I think I'm going to take it again, too. It'll probably get worse and worse, but I'll get some laughs out of it!

I'll stick with Siddhartha, whether or not it's actually true it's a pretty good book to be matched with. I've not read Catch-22 but I really liked Watership Down. Made me think of rabbits in a whole new way!

stefanie--I think Siddhartha is a good one, too--I'd stick with it! I read Watership Down when I was too young to appreciate it, I think--maybe I should give it another go. But still don't think it's a window into my personality ;)

That's funny, because I took it and got this, and then retook it and got Watership Down. I guess we're twins!

Ha, ha, ha! I'm as confused as all of you about my "book persona"--A Prayer for Owen Meaney--but I love reading about who all of you are and how you feel about it!

I'm The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy. Very fitting, really, in many ways.

I think being CATCH-22 would be cool. Being PRUFROCK on the other hand is downright embarrassing. I'm just too dreary and old to change it. . . ;)

dewey--I feel better that we got the same answers!

jenclair--the best part is how most people think their books don't describe them at all. I've been laughing, too!

bookfool--I'd be happy with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, too.

sfp--well, I only got Catch-22 the second time around, because I thought what I got the first time, Watership Down, was sort of embarrassing. Something about the rabbits just didn't work for me :)
