In Poetry News...

Charles Simic was just named the 15th Poet Laureate of the United States! Woot! Love his work!

Here's an article from Reuters. Here's one in The Guardian.

Check him out at Poets.org. You can read several of his poems there.

I also like his 1990 Pulitzer Prize winning The World Doesn't End

What a sweet photo of him! He looks very jolly. I've never heard of him, so I shall have to check out his work.

litlove--I haven't read his work in years, but I remember liking it. But I do know he's supposed to be a nice man :)

I heard about this yesterday and really I must check out his poetry now. I have heard his name before but I don't recall reading any of his poems.

iliana--I feel like he's one of those poets a lot of people have heard of but haven't read. I only read his work because one of my good friends is really into poetry. But he's definitely worth reading :)
