Weekend with the kids

This past holiday weekend involved very little reading, but there was watermelon, there were fireworks, and there was a movie. We went to see Kung Fu Panda, which was the only movie the whole family could agree on.

It was a lot of fun, but I particularly liked one quote, from the Kung fu master Oogway: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That's why they call it the present." Very nice.

What a nice quote! I want to go see this movie soon because I'm sure all my 2nd graders will see it this summer.

I must get to see this - only yesterday (history now) I was hearing how good it was!

robin--I'm sure your 2nd graders will see it, though I have to say it was a bit much for my littlest one--the kung fu action was a little overwhelming to her. But it was funny, and a lot of fun!

litlove--lol! Yes, it's a pretty charming movie :)

I loved this movie! I thought it was absolutely adorable. And after I heard that quote I wrote it down and tapped onto my wall at work.

My daughter quotes from this movie! she loved it. The littlest one (he's 3 1/2) didn't quite get through it all yet. I found it fun, very enjoyable, and love the 'secret' ingredient in the famous secret ingredient soup!!! and the fat that oversized /people/animals have talents too.
