Booking Through Thursday--Plotting
Today's Booking Through Thursday question:
Plots? Or Stream-of-Consciousness? Which would you rather read?
Both, is my wishy washy answer. There is a time and a place for stream-of-consciousness, and a time and a place for plot. I enjoy getting lost in the stream-of-consciousness of Joyce, Faulkner, and Woolf, but I also enjoy a rip-roaring plot.
I guess it really depends on how good the novel is. I'm happy with either as long as the writing is strong!
How about you?

I don't think that's a wishy washy answer. Of course, that may be because it's my answer too. :-)
I have to say, I love my word verification for this comment: "nomfork"
Plotting is my answer, check it out [HERE]
Well I'm wishy-washy too then because I like both just as much :)
"Both" was my answer, too. In general, I prefer books with strong plots and lots of action. But I also love Virginia Woolf, so I couldn't rule out s-o-c completely.
(streams of consciousness? that reminds me of an ex-boss!) and i am with you -- i like a good dose of both!
Amy--"nomfork", lol--I love what the computer comes up with! I like your answer to the BTT question, too!
Lori--I completely get why plotting is your answer, plus it's a very funny post!
Stefanie--hard to choose, right? For me it ust depends on my mood :)
jlshall--I love Virginia Woolf, too :)
aloi--lol! And I think balance is everything--and it all depends on what you're in the mood for.
Both for me too, although I mostly prefer a plot. Just because the strem-of-consciousness can really confuse me. Sometimes it works, though.
Haven't read it yet but I will check it out. Like your blog.
Give me a big shaker so I can mix 'em together!
I'm not at Berkeley anymore, so I figure if I don't have to read stream-o', I won't. LAT Book Festival in one week !!!
